We are improving, rejoices coach Jarolím

Boleslav leaps from the second to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League mainly due to a radical improvement of performance in the single week between the first and the second match with their Bosnian opponent.

This was obvious to everyone who saw both matches against NK ŠirokiBrijeg (where Boleslav dominated 2:1 at home and 4:0 as visitors) and Karel Jarolím, Boleslav's head coach, only confirms this fact. He joined the journalists in a very good mood after the game in ŠirokiBrijeg. "At first, we hesitated and allowed our opponents to create a scoring chance, but luckily, we survived. We guarded our one nil lead in the first half and expected the opponents to take risks in the second half. That was our chief hope and once we scored a second time, the match was decided."
How did you perceive Skalák's first and hence essential goal?
"One moment, I felt that he'd tarried too much, but he remained cold-blooded and crowned his break with a goal."
What is the reason that you did better in the second leg, in comparison with the first match?
"The first match was our first competition test; the second one was clearly better. I'm happy about the team's performance upward trend. The game was definitely better and I'm glad that we managed to assert our scoring capacity."
And how do you feel about Lyon?
"Lyon boasts ample experience of European cups and this challenge is going to be a real workload test for us and also huge experience for most of our players, because they've never faced a team like this in their careers before."
