Points slipped under Šeda's hand

Redakce

Boleslav managed to defend their fifth place from Jablonec and actually moved into fourth place on score difference; however, it did not move into the longed-for third place because of Šeda's mistake in goal and after the referee incorrectly disallowed a Řezníček goal.

Boleslav has waited four years for a victory over Jablonec and they failed to experience it again this autumn, even though victory was close at hand. They started rectifying the unpleasant statistics surprisingly quickly.

In the 4th minute Mendy's centred ball was taken by Řezníček on the edge of the Jablonec penalty box, and he shot through the goalie, Špit, with a bullet to the right goalpost - 0:1. The Boleslav football players were happy for only five minutes. Pekhart unexpectedly shot from twenty meters, and the slippery ball slipped through goalie Šeda's gloves into the net - 1:1.

The Jablonec equaliser came fast and easily. That adequately excited them, and they pressed the shocked Boleslav opponent to its penalty area. The second goal in the Šeda net came from the air. From a free kick, Pavlík hit the players' wall, Lafata turned Dimitrovski and his cross was kicked out by Kalina for a corner which saw a Jablonský bomb turned away by Šeda, and at the end of the initial quarter of hour, the Boleslav defence survived three corners in two minutes.
Táborský's free kick in 16th minute was diverted by the Jablonec defensive but the ball only to Fabián who's bomb crashed into to the cross-bar before being jostled away by Špit.
In the lead-up to halftime the Jablonec players were more active, but Šeda did not allow being double-crossed again and repeated misunderstandings between Dimistrovski and his teammates ended up well for Boleslav. In the 27th minute, Rolko stopped a Jablonec attack and created a Boleslav counter finding Táborský who passed the ball to Kulič who was ruled offside and his goal was disallowed by the referee. Shortly before the end of the halftime, Šeda handled a Jablonský bomb and Špit managed a blow from Procházka.

The second half did not change anything in the tie, even though both teams strived to find the winning goal. In the 55th minute, Kulič beautifully played the ball through the defence to Řezníček who turned in the penalty box and fired his shot inside the right goalpost, taking Špit completely by surprise. However, the goal was again ruled out, this time by the referee's assistant, Wilczek, who wrongly adjudged him to be offside.
Two minutes later, Boleslav was again close to a goal. However, it was preceded by a certain intervention from Šeda near the Jablonec corner. A quick Boleslav counter ensued which saw Opiela beat the goalie Špit only to see Piták clear the ball off the line.
Kulič from Boleslav had another big chance. Špit ran down a pass to Mendy's feet blocking him from shooting or passing to Řezníček as he fell under his feet.
The Jablonec players threatened with Kovařík's bomb in the 66th minute and by a Pekhart header in the 76th minute, which Šeda only kicked away but Rolko helped him out by blocking Pekhart's rebound.

Boleslav was missing the injured goalie Miller, defender Šírl and forward Chramosta. Jablonec were missing their injured defensive players Krajčík and Drsek.
