Unexpectedly cruel slaughter
The Boleslav team was beaten heavily in a direct clash for third position in the league standings and the associated participation in European. They took the lead through Papadopulos, however, they had already lost it before the break. Shortly after changing sides, Liberec's first goal scorer Nezmar scored for a second time and when Blažek easily added a third goal after a free kick from Papoušek, the Boleslav team was down. Misfortune was crowned by Mach's own goal which saw many of the home supporters lose their nerves and leave the terraces before the end of the match. The Boleslav team complicated their desired promotion into a European cup competition considerably.
After a quarter of an hour of testing each other, in which the most extensive excitement on the terraces came when Nezmar injured a bloody Kalina who returned to the pitch after three-minutes treatment, Kerič showed his football skills. He confused both Boleslav defenders and rushed towards Miller in the 15th minute but the Boleslav goalkeeper came out of his goal quickly and and spoiled the Liberec forward's scoring chance.
The Boleslav players worked a nice combination in attack in the 17th minute and Hrdlička's centred cross from the left-hand side found Papadopulos, who had timed his run perfectly, and he headed the ball inside the left-hand post of the Liberec goal - 1:0. Papoušek took the first Liberec corner kick in the 31st minute and his tricky centred pass found Nezmar in the Boleslav goal area who directed the ball on goal with his head - 1:1.
Boleslav spoiled the opening of the second half when they allowed Nezmar to penetrate into their penalty area in the 47th minute and, in spite of the fact that he was marked by two defenders, he managed to direct the ball past an oncoming Miller into the far right-hand corner of the goal - 1:2.
The Boleslav players endangered the Liberec goal first through a header from Papadopulos in the 54th minute and five minutes later, through an attack started by Rolko combining Poláček, Opiela and finally Sylvestre who shaped as if to shoot before passing the ball in the penalty area to Papadopulos, but his effort was saved by the Liberec stopper Košťál.
Papoušek took a free kick from just inside his own half and Blažek, with what was his firat touch of the ball after entering as a substitute, deflected the ball goalward from a huddle of players in the 61st minute. It was a lucky goal for Liberec and an unlucky goal for Boleslav - 1:3. It proved to be the decisive moment for the progress of the match.
The legs of the Boleslav players became heavy while the Liberec players found wings. Boleslav failed to get out of their own half Liberec attacked them tirelessly.
Mach finished the annihilation of the Boleslav team seven minutes from time with an own goal as he diverted a centred pass by Kerič behind Miller's back - 1:4. Most of the spectators had left the terraces before the referee whistled for the last time.
