Home suffering without end
The Boleslav team has not won a home fixture in the Gambrinus liga this spring and as in the preceding goalless match against České Budějovice, the players suffered the same score-line against Viktoria Žižkov, the second last team in the league. They often wasted their passes in an unexpectedly nervous performance and could not overcome a weakening rival in final minutes as they pushed their opponents towards goal. No Boleslav player was able to produce a surprising final pass or push through the compact defence of a team under immense pressure.
The Boleslav players were reduced to inaccuracy after a self-confident start and had to devote unexpected effort to winning each ball. Žižkov´s pressure saw them miss a great chance to open the scoring. Vaculík centred from the right-hand side in the 16th minute but the ball flew across the goal area surprising both the defenders and goalkeeper Miller and an unmarked Straka headed the ball just over the top right-hand corner of the Boleslav goal. The Boleslav attack suffered from long periods of inactivity caused by the midfield pressure. The second half started promisingly for the Boleslav team, however it failed to produce that elusive goal again. The Žižkov goalkeeper Bartalský pushed Mendy´s goal-bound header over the crossbar after a centred pass by Hrdlička. As time elapsed, the Boleslav boots grew ever more desperate. Both Opiela and Papadopulos wasted chances and Procházka collided with Rolko when jumping for the ball which saw a Žižkov break end with an unlucky missed opportunity in the 77th minute. Fortunately, the Žižkov forward Kalod over-hit his cross and, as the ball sailed over an unmarked forward, Miller ended the dangerous situation easily.
The Boleslav players pushed Žižkov towards their own goal in the last quarter hour and continued to pile on the pressure in the three minutes of added time, but they were unable to beat the an alert goalkeeper in Bartalský.
