Papadopulos and Procházka earn the points in Teplice

Redakce

The Boleslav players took a three goal lead in Teplice before late drama saw an apparently easy win disappear as their rivals fought back to within one goal. Teplice was without their suspended defender Klein while Boleslav were missing their midfielder Poláček, also though suspension. Hapal, the Boleslav Coach, brought Kysela into the midfield line and left the remaining squad unchanged. His opponent Plíšek made six changes to the starting line-up from their last league match.

Both teams struggled to settle during the opening quarter of the match but the Boleslav players slowly found their feet and won their first and only corner of the half. The resulting kick from Sylvestre found Rajnoch who knocked his header into the path of Procházka and his strike found the back of the Teplice goal in the 17th minute – 0:1.

The only Teplice attack of note in the first half saw a well taken free kick by Mareš saved by Miller with the rebound falling to Štohanzl but his shot was off target.

The Boleslav players were livelier after they returned from the dressing rooms and nice interplay between Pecka and Sylvestre resulted in Kysela’s shot being bundled out for a corner. The Teplice players worked their way into the game and it was against the run of play that Papadopulos remember his mission and demolished their hopes. Sylvestre sent an excellent pass into the Teplice penalty area after nice build-up in the 55th minute and Papadopulos controlled the ball nicely before firing it inside the post beyond the stretch of the goalkeeper Belic – 0:2. Shortly afterwards Kalina stole the ball from Štohanzl and centred it in front of the Teplice goal where Papadopulos was again in the right place at the right time and his masterful 62nd minute strike defeated Belic again – 0:3.

However Teplice were soon back in the game as an unlucky Kalina saw his blocked shot at the other end fall invitingly for Stožický who beat Miller with a first time strike in the 70th minute – 1:3. The Home fans who had thrown fireworks amongst the Boleslav substitute players warming up on the sidelines also attempted to upset the Boleslav team and in the 79th minute a Mahmutovič header somehow managed to find the net after a scrum in the goal area – 2:3.

The Teplice players did their best to beat Miller during the closing stages but he made some excellent saves before bravely saving a smashing shot by Jun, however a brutal punch from Sabou forced him to be substituted with concussion and the suspicion of a serious eye injury. It was an extraordinarily and dramatic premiere for the young goalkeeper Kubásek but his first league appearance was successful. The team managed to defend the tight lead and saw out the four extra minutes of injury time, earning the three points at Teplice and maintaining their second place in the league standings.
