FK Mladá Boleslav - 1.FC Brno 1:3 (0:1)
Even if the coach of the Boleslav team had missed five players when suspended offenders Kalina, Řezníček and Táborský joined Pižanovski and Opiela, injured for a long period, it would never have crossed the minds of any of the players or viewers that the match against Brno would start with a goal conceded in the first minute. The Boleslav players didn’t recover from the shocking strike, which was reflected in their imprecise combinations. The Brno team didn’t beat Boleslav by playing pressure that was obvious at first sight, but through football performance of a higher quality and it confirmed this fact with three nice goals.
The Boleslav audience had never seen a goal conceded so quickly.
The clock showed only the 25th second when Střeštík, from the Brno team stopped hesitating about what to do with the ball at the edge of the penalty area and took advantage of the unexpectedly premium space provided him by the defenders for precision aiming at the farther post to Miller’s right – 0:1. A truly shocking opening and the Boleslav players struggled with its consequences for the whole first half.
After the opening of the second half, the Brno players threatened again, thanks to Střeštík. He tried to centre-pass the ball in the Boleslav goal area to Trousil, but Miller managed to rebound the ball away in front of the Brno stopper.
Hrdlička had a free kick in the 51st minute and Kopic jumped highest from the huddle of players in front of the Brno goal and headed the ball beside Lejsal – 1:1.
However, the Brno team wasn’t thrown off balance with the equalizing goal and the players continued their dangerous attacks at the Boleslav goal. Boleslav resisted a free kick by Polách and a header by Besta cleared Miller’s goal after the next attack. But in the 57th minute, Polách passed the ball perfectly to Besta, who, running at full speed managed to touch it with the toe of his football shoe and direct it along Miller, running out in the Boleslav net for the second time – 1:2.
The Brno team got a free kick in a distance of approximately twenty meters from the Boleslav goal in the 89th minute. Pavlík and Polách haggled above the ball for a while and in the end, Polách kicked it so precisely that it flew across the Boleslav wall and ended at the right-hand post – 1:3. A corner kick taken by Hodúr, terminated by a header by Sedláček was the last action of the match in the first of three minutes of extra time; however, Lejsal was watchful and saved it.
