FK Siad Most - FK Mladá Boleslav 2:1

Redakce

The Letni Stadium in Most brought Boleslav their second defeat in their first league contact with Most; this being the first opportunity the fans and club supporters had to leave the match prematurely. Some players did not attend the specific match - Procházka (match ban for previous disqualification), Pižanowski (convalescing after knee surgery), Opiela (flesh wound) and Hodúr (fever); nonetheless, the Boleslav supporters were expecting their team to put a quick end to the match against the tail ender in the league. This not being possible, the sad fans, embittered, left the stands as early as ten minutes before the end, and headed home without even waiting to hear the final whistle.

The first half saw a large number of thorough duels, mostly in the central part of the pitch. Rajnoch and Řezníček, Boleslav’s fiercest men, had to be given medical treatment.

Most may have been predominant in field possession, yet they were not able to score. A number of times they would besiege the Boleslav goal for minutes without any luck. The same may be said about the Boleslav team, who didn’t score a point either, although they were not as active as their opponents. The higher game activity was also backed by the number of corner kicks. In the first half, the Most players played six of them, whereas Boleslav had none. This parameter reached a final value of 14:0, for Most.

Most could have scored three times in the first half.

It was only in minute 32 that Boleslav managed to initiate an attack, but Řezníček’s charge across Webster and the resulting pass to the front of the Most goal were not to find a reasonable ending by Rajnoch, Kysela, Mendy, or Hrdlička.

The general image of the game play, Most being the more active participant, did not see any change after the teams changed sides. The Boleslav defence managed to deflect two attacks by Rilke. First, it was Ševinský, then Miller, who put a harmless course on the attacker’s hard shots. Later, Prášil deflected Trubil’s corner kick with his forehead outside the goal area. In minute 56, Rilke was to teach Miller a lesson, but that was not to be yet, as Boleslav’s nil was saved by Kalina’s actions on the goal line.

Boleslav originated their first dangerous plan in minute 58. Mendy ran down the left wing, passed to Holub, who brought the ball to a stop in the penalty area, giving himself a nice shooting opportunity. The low shot that originated from the situation was stopped by Švenger.

In minute 63, after a penalty kick from the right and in the tumult that arose subsequently, the ball bounced off Ševinský to Webster. The striker did not hesitate and directed it into the Boleslav net – 1:0. A promising reply to the goal seemed to be the unexpected charge that Rajnoch created in minute 70. However, it only hit the crossbar, giving a dark foreboding of the things that were to come. One minute later, the Most squad initiated and delivered a swift attack along the left wing of the pitch. Miller managed to push Rilke’s shot from the goal, yet he fell too short to address Pešír’s rebound – 2:0.

The Boleslav line of defence consisted only of Kysela, who replaced Ševinský. All the other players were pushing forward. Hrdlička’s penalty kick effortlessly found Rolko, his head shot was saved by Švenger.

In minute 88, Holub finalised two Boleslav plans. In the first, he was trying to shoot over Švenger, but the ball went way too high even for the goal itself. In the second opportunity, he was able to prepare better and finally delivered behind Švenger’s back – 2:1.
