SK Slavia Praha - FK Mladá Boleslav 1:1 (0:1)
Head-coach Ščasný regarded the gain of one point as the maximum that the Boleslav players could achieve in ten men against the league leaders. Boleslav took the lead through a goal scored by Rajnoch, however, the team played almost one hour one man down after Hrdlička was erroneously sent off. Slavia managed to push through the concentrated Boleslav defence only once through Pudil. Mašek appeared in the Boleslav shirt for the first time in a league match, however, only for ten minutes.
The Boleslav players won the first half as far as both corner kicks and goals even if the Slavia players were more active in the opening of the match. They took three corner kicks between the 10th and 13th minutes and moreover, Šmicer stretched Pižanowski properly with his grounder to the left-hand post. Pižanowski also excellently saved shots from Suchý and Gebresselassie in the 16th minute after the fifth corner from Slavia .
The Boleslav players responded in the 21st minute. Matějovský broke through three opponents in the penalty area, perfectly passed the ball to Kysela but his shot only resulted in a corner kick. But the Boleslav players became happier in the 30th minute. Voříšek took a free kick almost from the left-hand side line, the ball fell through a knot of players in the goal area, where Rajnoch touched it slightly but successfully just before Vaniak – 0:1.
Hrdlička saw a yellow card for the second time in a ten-minute period shortly after the goal so he was sent off. However, he was booked erroneously in the 22nd minute as Gebresselassie fell over after a duel with Rajnoch instead of Hrdlička. A fatal mistake by the main referee again to the detriment of Mladá Boleslav....
Moreover, Kalina was knocked over in the Slavia penalty area in the 36th minute but the referee did not punish the foul. Boleslav saved the lead till the break as Šenkeřík headed the ball above the crossbar. The Slavia head-coach made two substitutions for the second half. He strengthened the forward line so that the team rushed for the offensive. Rajnoch headed the ball away after a free kick taken by Volešák, Pižanowski saved Pudil‘s shot, Šenkeřík headed above the unattended Boleslav goal again. However, only the attack when Šenkeřík’s cross pass found the unattended Pudil, who defeated Pižanowski with his left foot, ended in a goal – 1:1. Volešák’s shot from a free kick just cleared the crossbar in the 74th minute. At the other end, Vaněček outfoxed Suchý, passed the ball to Kalina but his centre pass flew past the goal. Another of Vaněček’s effort resulted in a corner kick and after taking it, the referee whistled an attacking foul by Kopic against Vaniak so that any scoring hopes died. Volešák missed the last two scoring chances when he failed to find the Boleslav goal with his shot from the boundary of the penalty area and with repeated shots from several metres’ distance in overtime.
