Mladá Boleslav was punished for its fruitless offensive by another league defeat at Plzeň. The team from West Bohemia got ahead through two goals scored by Jarolím and Fillo in the third quarter. The rivals surpassed the Boleslav players in most football parameters, in particular as for speed and movement. The Boleslav head-coach, Ščasný, ascribed it to tiredness from the demanding Thursday match of the UEFA Cup. Mladá Boleslav lost another three points and the opportunity to get to fifth position in the league standings. Moreover, the team also lost goalkeeper Miller, who left Plzeň with a suspected broken thumb on his left hand.

The Boleslav players were not successful in their effort to get in front of the Plzeň goal through long passes or grounders. Either the ball was quicker than the waiting players or the defenders caught them

The Boleslav head-coach, Zdeněk Ščasný, showed his annoyance to journalists after the league match between Viktoria Plzeň and Mladá Boleslav with the final score 2:0. Both the defeat and the performance was the reason of his annoyance. After home defeats in the matches against Liberec and Zlín, Mladá Boleslav suffered another unpleasant blow at Plzeň. “Our results are not as I would imagine,“ said Ščasný disappointedly. The supporters of the Mladá Boleslav football team see it in a similar way.

“We prepared ourselves for break attacks of Plzeň with the idea that we would take control over the match. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal from the first shot at our goal and played without aggressiveness or movement,“ complained Zdeněk Ščasný. “I pointed out to the players that we could not open up the field for the rival’s break attacks but this happened. They were late everywhere so the result could not have been different.“
While Ščasný assessed the playing performance of his team positively and lamented only over wasted scoring chances after the lost matches against the league opponents from Liberec and Zlín, this did not apply after the match in Plzeň.
”This match was unsuccessful as to both performance and the result. Tiredness from Thursday’s cup match was apparent in the players. They really lost a lot of strength in the match against Villarreal and they lacked movement against Plzeň,“ added Ščasný.
