Boleslav Demolished Liberec by Goals of Kysela, Kopic and Holub
It was real football fantasy! After the first half, in which the skipper of Boleslav Matějovský missed a penalty kick, his team demolished its rival from Liberec when the players of Boleslav scored three times during ten minutes after an hour of playing. Kysela scored twice while Kopic once. Holub hammered the last nail in the coffin of Liberec in the ninetieth minute. Because Slavia Prague won in České Budějovice as expected and reached a qualification round of the Champions League, Mladá Boleslav qualified from the third position in a preliminary round of the UEFA Cup. Slovan Liberec, the defeated defending champion, ended on the fourth position in the final league standings.
Papoušek from Liberec and Matějovský from Mladá Boleslav were the first players to shoot first at the rival's goal. But both goalkeepers were on their spots. Pudil performed a free kick after Rajnoch's foul on Nezmar and Hodúr headed the ball over the goal of Mladá Boleslav. The players struggled for the ball very fiercely in many duels one against one on the pitch. Dittrich paid for that by an injury. He was substituted by Sedláček. But Matějovský missed a penalty kick before this moment. The referee ordered it for a foul of Janů on penetrating Dittrich in the 18th minute. The skipper of Mladá Boleslav prepared the ball on the spot. "I looked at Pecka but he winked at me to undertake it." So he took run-up and kicked the ball over the crossbar of the goal of Liberec even if he aimed under the horizontal part of the goal.
And because also Ševinský, Abraham, Pudil and Nezmar missed their chances, the first half ended without goals. They came only after an hour of playing. Poláček took a free kick in the 58th minute after a foul on pentrating Pecka. He sent the ball finely in front of the goal of Liberec where Kysela jumped at the correct moment and directed the ball with his head in the net - 1:0. Matějovský shot immediately after that but he did not overcome the goalkeeper Hauzr. Matějovský sent his centre pass from the right-hand side to Pecka who volleyed a smashing shot at Hauzr who managed only to rebound the ball back to the striker of Mladá Boleslav and he passed the ball selflessly to Kysela in the goal area so that he could score without difficulties for the second time - 2:0. And Kopic headed the ball unstoppably after a corner kick taken by Poláček behind the back of Hauzr in the 68th minute - 3:0.
Holub who substituted Kysela in the 88th minute knocked the players of Liberec down. He involved himself immediately in a combination attack that resulted in a corner kick. Sedláček send the ball on the head of Holub who did not miss his chance - 4:0.
