One of the current goalkeepers of FK Mladá Boleslav Pavel Kučera desires for a contract abroad. For that reason, he utilized an offered opportunity and underwent a test in English club Leeds United during the winter break. Kučera still has no news whether he has been so successful that he could get a contract in the football promised country but in spite of this, he considers the days spent in English environment for excellent profession experience.

The thirty-one-year old goalkeeper of Mladá Boleslav travelled in England on an advice of his personal manager. "I have experienced and tested everything in the Czech league so that I would like to try it also in a foreign club," admitted the experienced goalkeeper coming from Litvínov, from where he was transferred in Teplice at first and then in Ústí nad Labem, Kralupy, Blšany and Viktoria Žižkov as a guest player, his football desire. He returned back in Teplice in 2001. He came in Mladá Boleslav playing the second league then in the winter transfer term at the beginning of 2004 and celebrated with the team promotion in Gambrinus League, the second position in the 2005/06 season and participated in the campaign of Mladá Boleslav throughout Europe. The atmosphere of the UEFA Cup was not strange for him as he remembered it from 2002 when he shined in the goal of Viktoria Žižkov. He has taken part in thirty-eight league matches in the domestic league so far.
Pavel Kučera passed a four-day stay in the English club Leeds United. "I have passed special exercises with a group of goalkeepers maybe from the whole world in their perfect training centre but I did not participated in any match. The manager said me then that I had presented myself well but I cannot guess whether there is any chance for a foreign contract," said Kučera who considers the mere four days spent in the English club for very useful experience. Leeds United is on the last but one position of the League Championship, which is the second highest professional league in England at present. Kučera considered also participation in a test in another English club, Luton Town, that is ranked a little bit better than Leeds United, but he did not fly there, as he had to start winter preparation in Mladá Boleslav.
