Salvage of B Team And Promotion of Junior Team Will Be Important Tasks for 2007
Domestic reputation of FK Mladá Boleslav is based on successfulness of the first team. Nobody cast doubt upon this fact. However, it is also undoubted that the results of other teams, above all those junior ones represent a very important part of image of sports successfulness of a club.
The sports director of FK Mladá Boleslav Zdeněk Kudela considers the last year 2006 to be successful both by ranking in the domestic league and by performances in European cup competitions. "We did not succeeded in the qualification for the Champions League, however, we managed to eliminate Olympique Marseille, what nobody expected, and passed the basic group of the UEFA Cup with beautiful matches. It is a pity that we did not manage to win at least one match and that we sunk down in the league standings," said Kudela and added that if the team would repeat its 2006 performances both in the league and in Europe also in 2007, nobody in Mladá Boleslav would be angry. He emphasized that the most important achievement of the players of Mladá Boleslav in the last year was the fact that Mladá Boleslav became known in Europe and that the team was referred to even outside of the boundaries of the Czech Republic in association with good football by the sports public.
But football in Mladá Boleslav is not only the first league team. Many coaches train talented players of youth categories in the club. After a ten-year break, the B team started to participate in competitions. "The B team does not perform well in the Bohemian Football League and its players and team management will have to improve considerably in spring in order to keep in the competition," emphasized Michal Doležal who works in the position of a coordinator of work of the coaches of youth teams and as a team leader of the B team in the club. But return of the junior A team in the highest domestic competition of this age category is an equally important task.
