Uhrin: We Missed Key Players Badly

Redakce

Mladá Boleslav travelled in Moravia with very weakened squad. The players also had little time for regeneration after a cup match. And, moreover, when we add temporary blindness of the referee when judging the intervention against Holub deep in the penalty area of Olomouc, the league point hung to high for the Uhrin's team to reach them. "We missed key players in Olomouc more than had thought initially," said Uhrin after the last league match of this year.

Matějovský, Kulič and Kysela could not play because of suspension. Injuries ruled out Brezinský and Pecka. Only four players including convalescents Nesvadba and Mikolanda were sitting on the substitution bench besides the reserve goalkeeper Kučera. Moreover, Vít did not complete the match in Olomouc with suspicion of a torn thigh muscle. "The first goal decided the match. We did not want to concede the first goal, we wanted to be the first team to score. Unfortunately, we did not manage it. The second thing was the non-whistled penalty after the clear foul on Holub," said the head-coach of Mladá Boleslav with respect to the progress of the match in the first half. He regretted the second goal at the beginning of the second half after misunderstanding between Palát and Poláček.
"When the score was two one, we managed to create pressure, we had a lot of chances but missed all of them and conceded the third goal. We must learn from our mistakes, of course, I congratulate our opponent for the win," added Uhrin. When the journalists asked him to assess autumn of Mladá Boleslav team after the match, he reminded at first that autumn did not end for Mladá Boleslav with the last autumn match, but that a very important match for qualifying in the spring stage of the UEFA Cup in Tel Aviv in Israel was ahead of the team. "We started autumn very well but its end was worse. Generally, I am satisfied with our autumn even if we will assess it only after the cup match." The head-coach of Mladá Boleslav regretted in connection with the European cup that the match against Olomouc was not postponed at least by one day as his team had little time for regeneration since the Thursday's exhausting battle with Paris Saint Germain till Sunday.
The head-coach of Olomouc, Vlastimil Petržela, did not omit to emphasize the quality of Mladá Boleslav team when assessing the performance of his team. "We did not play so well as in our last matches which resulted from the strong opponent. Above all, we were afraid of standard situations presented by Mladá Boleslav. We had many spoiled passes but, fortunately, we managed to score from our attacks. We deserved the win and I am satisfied that we have pleased our supporters," said the head-coach of Olomouc Petržela who acted also in Mladá Boleslav before his leaving for Russian engagement and after return from Petersburg in the Czech Republic, he succeeded to the Olomouc team after the fourth autumn league round after resigning Palička.
