Rapid Bucharest Feels To Be a Front-Runner

The head-coach of Rapid Bucharest Razvan Lucescu does not admit that his team would not beat Mladá Boleslav. Local press supports him in his opinion and pronounces Rapid in a role of an unambiguous front-runner. Rumanian journalists and experts are confirmed in this opinion by current appearance of the standings of the group G of the UEFA, in which FK Mladá Boleslav is on the last position with no points as the only one of the five teams. "The match in Bucharest is as much important for us as the other two matches against Paris Saint Germain and Hapoel Tel Aviv. However, if Rapid manages to win, they would make an important step for qualifying," said Dušan Uhrin.

But not all in Bucharest see an unambiguously weak opponent in the team from Mladá Boleslav. The fact that the club eliminated Olympique Marseille arouses respect and the playing style of the team is disciplined like German football," warns the Bucharest forward Moldovan. The head-coach of Mladá Boleslav Uhrin reminded that there was quite different situation in the match against Olympique Marseille than in case of the current one-leg system in the group. Arrogant Frenchmen won the first match and they were on the second position in the league standings and the players of Mladá Boleslav surprised them in the return match. Rumanian journalists asked Uhrin to compare the level of performance of Olympique Marseille and Rapid Bucharest. „Marseille has a team of a higher quality than Rapid Bucharest, however, the players of Rapid are together for longer time so that they have created a more compact team. We watched the team in five matches but it did not play under opponent's pressure in any match and will just try to get Rapid under pressure," said Uhrin.

The match of the third round of the group G of the UEFA Cup between Rapid Bucharest and FK Mladá Boleslav starts at 8.15 p.m. on Thursday, November 23 of Rumanian time, i.e. at 7.15 CET. You can follow the progress of the match through on-line coverage on this club's website.
