The champion match of the 15th round of the Gambrinus league FC Slovan Liberec - FK Mladá Boleslav on Sunday, 19 November at 8:15 p.m. will be conducted by a trio of German referees. The Football Association of the Czech Republic asked the German Football Association for cooperation in a similar way as it did before the autumn Prague derby Sparta vs. Slavia. This time, Peter Sippel will be the head-referee and Josef Maier and Walter Hofmann will be his assistants.

A week before the duel Liberec did not succeed in a match in Teplice where it suffered the hardest loss of 0:3 in the league season up to now. On the other hand, Mladá Boleslav ended a series of three losses by a home victory against Most 2:1. These results currently affected that both teams now have the same number of champion points and that only five goals in the total score stand between the second Liberec and the third Mladá Boleslav. In addition, the mutual balance is equal for each of the rivals has won twice with a total score of 8:8.

Mladá Boleslav played Liberec four times for the league points. Like a rule, it was always the guest team that got all the points. In September 2004 in front of the sold out Boleslav stadium in the beginning of the second half Pospíšil beat the goalkeeper Miller after Slepička's centre pass. Just by this single goal, Liberec won the game 1:0. In the spring 2005, Mladá Boleslav unexpectedly won the return match 3:1. In the first half the goalkeeper Hauzr was beaten by Pecka, shortly after the break Došek arranged the equalizing. In the 64th minute Sedláček's shot ended in the Liberec goal as well as Vaculík's shot in the 74th minute.

On the contrary, in August 2005 Liberec managed better in a game in Mladá Boleslav. In the interval of 10 minutes Miller, goalkeeper of Boleslav, was beaten by Hodúr, Došek and Pudil, so in the 29th minute Liberec led the game by 3:0. Vít and Švejdík managed to lower the score before the break, but in the 70th minute Liberec Holenda set the final score to 4:2 for the guest Liberec. The return match was played in May this year and according to customs the guest Mladá Boleslav won the game by 3:2. Kulič sparkled by scoring a hattrick. He scored from two penalty kicks in the 19th and 58th minute, but fifteen minutes before the end he got an answer by Matula and Abraham who scored two goals in the interval of three minutes and the score was equalized. In the 3rd minute of overtime, Kulič took a nice shot from the penalty area, which went through the gap in the jungle of defending players, and arranged the winning goal.

After the referee's final whistle, players of both teams were rejoicing. Liberec because of its champion's title which was for granted even before the match and Mladá Boleslav because of its second place. All of them deservedly in spite of Prague prophets of doom. Relatively recent line-up may be worth reminding.
