Dušan Uhrin: We want to advance

The second match between Mladá Boleslav and Olympique Marseille is truly an extraordinary opportunity for Dušan Uhrin, his colleague and the team players to prove their worth. The first confrontation of the Mladá Boleslav football with a large European club in Istanbul resulted in a five-goal thrashing, while a similar match in Marseille ended with a very tight defeat. Since the home rematch with Istanbul millionaires ended in a draw for Mladá Boleslav team, does it mean that the second match with Marseille stars will end in a victory? Dušan Uhrin believes it does.

Will it be a harsh disappointment if you fail to advance today?

"We want to advance to the next round and I have not spared a thought for a possible disappointment"

In the Marseille match your opponent played without its biggest star Riberi in the basic lineup. Did you feel underestimated?

"I did not really feel that way, because I knew that Riberi had had some injuries and that the coach wanted to spare his health for the subsequent matches."

Are you going to devote one of your players to cover Riberi, or will you rather adapt the tactics in other way to deal with this exceptional football personality?

"We had a special tactics against Riberi even for the Marseille match and naturally, we are ready to use it in the new match. We will not cover him by personal defense throughout the field but we will pay him more attention in the penalty area."

What are your expectations for the today's match after your last confrontation?

"Olympique Marseille has an offensive style, the players are used to playing offensive and they will do the same in Mladá Boleslav. We practice a similar playing style and I believe that both teams have the same chance of winning."

How would you like to break through?

"We must be more venturous and assertive, much more so than in our recent match with Zlín, while avoiding mistakes in defense."

When you look back at the Zlín match, are you worried about the gross mistakes made by your stoppers?"

"Not really; I am convinced that the mistakes made by stoppers in Zlín were not a result of some long-term problems with our players but just a coincidental "bad leg" day that will not happen again."
